The Native American Fatherhood and Families Association (NAFFA) would like to formally invite you to attend our 16th Annual “Fatherhood Is Leadership” National Conference on October 15-17, 2019 at Ft. McDowell, Arizona. Our primary goal is to promote fathers and mothers to take the lead in keeping their families together.

NAFFA is recognized as leaders in the field of Native American fatherhood, and this conference is our largest educational platform to focus upon the path to father and mother involvement and growing healthy families.

By attending this conference, you will experience self-empowerment and personal development. We will focus upon individual life skills, strengthening relationships and creating a pathway to a purposeful life. Many prominent speakers, arranged in four tracks of: Fatherhood/Motherhood, Criminal Justice, Education and Health & Human Services, will fill the agenda. This year marks NAICJA’s 50th anniversary. Please join NAICJA at its conference October 16-18, 2019 to celebrate its anniversary! NAICJA is featuring topics that highlight ways in which American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian and First Nations justice systems utilize their courts to strengthen, restore, and protect communities. We are especially interested in presentations that focus on restorative justice, innovative practices that deal with drug and alcohol addiction issues, traditional justice, public safety issues, promising Indian child welfare practices, court security, and topics of interest to court clerks and court personnel.

The Tribal/Interior Budget Council (previously the Bureau of Indian Affairs/Tribal Budget Advisory Council) was established in 1999 to facilitate tribal government participation in the planning of the BIA budget and includes two tribal representatives from each of the 12 BIA regions.

The mission of the TIBC is: to provide an advisory government-to-government forum and process for Tribes and the Department to develop budgets that allow for the fulfillment of tribes’ self-determination, self-governance, sovereignty, and treaty rights, as well as sufficient levels of funding to address the needs of Tribes and their tribal citizens.
